Rajesh for round the clock power to PHE feeder stations

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the grants in the Legislative Assembly on PHE said that there should be no power cuts and the power supply should be for 24 hours at the dedicated feeders so that water supply to the concerned areas is not disturbed. There should also be spare motors at the PHE stations so that when one is damaged another can be made functional.
He said that the department lacks work culture. There is leakage of water at different places and it needs to be stopped. Rajesh Gupta said that we can save at least 40 per cent water by plugging leakage.
He said that even unhygienic water is also supplied at different places and it is the duty of turn cockers to inform about the leakage of pipes to the concerned JEs and in turn they should inform about the same to the concerned XENs. MLA said that PHE, PDD and Urban Development Department are providing essential services and as such they must have a provision that e-tendering should not be applicable on works costing under 5 lakh because the developmental works suffer as a result of this process.
