SRINAGAR: Calling for close coordination among all security agencies to maintain continuous vigil on the activities of anti-national elements to foil their nefarious designs, Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has said that peoples’ cooperation and greater synergy among the agencies is must for achieving desired results. Rajendra was on day long tour to South Kashmir districts on Sunday to take stock of the security and law and order situation in the range.
Addressing the Darbar of Police officers and jawans at Damhal Hanjipora, the DGP said that safety and security of the people has always remains the prime concern of JKP and every effort of the anti-national elements to disrupt the peaceful environ of the State would be dealt firmly. He said that JKP has faced various challenges and abnormal situations since last 25 years with other security agencies and always arise to save lives and property of the people while dealing with the situations. Chairing officers meeting at Anantnag, which was attended by senior police officers of the range, Rajendra said that during the recent months, JKP faced tough situations and our men and officers exercised maximum restraint and dealt the situations with fortitude. It was due to their restraint that precious lives of the people were saved despite provocations by anti-national elements.
During the visit, Rajendra inspected Police Station Damhal Hanjipora, Wanpoh, Arvani and other police establishments in the district which were damaged during recent unrest. He gave on-the-spot instructions to restart repairs of all damaged infrastructures immediately.
Among others, Rajendra was accompanied by Spl. DG Coordination/Law and Order, Dr. S.P Vaid, IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani, DIG SKR, Nitish Kumar, District Superintendents of Police of the Range and other police officers.
