The army officers claimed, “These youth have been brain washed to the extent that instead of restoring peace they were found to be looking for an opportunity to flare up tensions and provoke the security forces to use force against them to channelise peoples anger against them”.
“It is a dangerous trend and we must remain alert and prepared to thwart nefarious designs of inimical elements”, the army officers claimed to have informed the Army Chief during the meeting.
Adequate deployment of central paramilitary and state police force may have prevented the situation from going out of hands but the number of violent clashes have left them worried.
The Army Chief during his visit to the state also visited different formations in Reasi, Rajori and Doda and interacted with the senior army officers and took brief of the prevailing security situation.

During the security review meeting Lt-Gen Nimbhorkar briefed the Army Chief about the preparedness of White Knight Corps in dealing with the emerging and dynamically changing security situation and the measures taken to thwart any misadventure by the inimical forces, informed Col Goswami, adding, “He also highlighted the measures adopted to counter any infiltration through employment of an effective counter infiltration grid backed by synergised surveillance and intelligence backed operations.”
