Qilla Club wins volleyball title

BHADARWAH: To inculcate sportsmanship among village youth and Continuing its efforts to promote sports in rural areas, 4 Rashtriya Rifles(RR) organized Inter Village Volleyball Tournament, final of which was played here today.
In all eight teams from different villages of Bhadarwah Tehsil participated in the week long tournament. After competing in round robin matches, Sarounda and Qilla reached into the finals after defeating Club Bhadarwah and Puneja simultaneously.
The high voltage final was played today at Boys Higher Secondary School Bhadarwah in which Qilla defeated Sarounda 3 sets to 1.
Sarounda started with a lot of promise and agility in the game in the first set and won it with a good margin 25-16 but in the next three sets team Qilla made an astonishing come back and won three straight sets 25-22, 25-14 and 25-17.
Both the teams were presented with winner and runner up trophies along with cash prize. Sandeep Kumar of Sarounda Club was declared Man of the Match and Sameer of Qilla was adjudged as Player of the Tournament.
Murtaza Qadir, who acted as a match referee was also presented with a trophy and memento.
Others present were Lt Col Bikramjeet Singh, Lt Col C.J Singh, SDPO Bhadarwah Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Principal Annie Kotwal, ZPEO Pritam Singh, ASP Bhadarwah, Abdul Haq, Arif Rana, Tanveer Dev and Naseer Mehboob Padder, Jawans of 4RR, Police and staff of School.
