JAMMU: Casual labourers and need based workers of PWD and PMGSY Department held a protest in front of office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu demanding formation of regularisation policy for the workers engaged after 1994.
Raising slogans in support of their demands, the protestors urged the government to frame regularisation policy for all causal workers, who are working in the department for the past over a decade.
They also demanded release of wages under proper wages head.
President of the Union, Ajay Kumar expressed anguish meted out by the previous State Government by making false promises for regularization of casual labours working in PWD(R&B) and PMGSY Departments.
They demanded formulation of concrete policy for regularization, creation of a separate head of wages, clearing the pending wages and enhancing wages.
The prominent activists spoke on the occasion were Bhanu Partap Singh, Naresh Kumar Sharma, Aijaz Ahmad, Jogesh Bhau, Yograj Sharma, Sunil Sathoo, Ravi Kumar, Himmet Singh, Rohit Kumar, Ganesh Khajuria, Rajat Khajuria, Ravinder Singh, Shiv Darshan Singh, Verinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Jeet Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Kishore, Narinder, Nitin Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Ankush Sharma and Sanjeev Suri.
