Well done, Punjab Warriors (PW) hockey team on winning the third edition of the Hockey India League. Last year, in spite of performing very well, PW lost the finals in penalty shootout. What a sublime performance the team gave at Ranchi on 21st February by defeating Kalinga Lancers 6-1. The foreign players were superior to their Indian counterparts in physique, endurance and will to grab opportunities to score field goals. Rupinder Pal Singh of Delhi Waveriders was rightly chosen player of the tournament. He was omnipresent in the field. Sardar Singh has achieved the distinction of captaining Delhi Waveriders to victory in 2013 and now PW. The experience will take the Indian players to the podium in the coming Rio Olympics.
