DODA: To discuss the number of challenges posed by the State Government to discourage the marginal profit earning private schools, one day convention of Private Schools of Distt. Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar was organised in the premises of Green Model Hr. Sec. School under the chairmanship of Prof J.L Kotwal Chairman Private Scholl Association (PSA) J and K.
The convention was started with the welcome speech of O.P Chandail, President Unit Doda. In the meeting Ajay Gupta, General Secretary cum State Coordinator of J an dK PSA briefed all the stakeholders about the current policies and new orders of State Government made on the flimsy grounds to discourage unemployed educated youth who are working very hard to run their livelihood without any financial support from any agency. He briefed to the august house that education authorities of Distt. Ramban are forcing the Private schools of Distt. Ramban to deposit School Improvement Fund (SIF), as there is no such order or circular in this regard which has been issued by the State Government till date.
President of the Association Kamal Gupta while speaking said though such order is unwarranted and Education Department cannot claim SIF at any cost as the school buildings and equipment in the private schools are managed and improved by the management committee/ sponsor/ owner of the private school. He warned the government to hold a massive protest in the entire State for discriminatory orders differing from district to district and hostile attitude towards the private schools functioning in the State. Prof J.L Kotwal while speaking appealed to the Education Minister to put a check on bureaucracy and restrain them to issue unreasonable and unwarranted hostile orders as private schools are rendering yeomen service for the benefit of the society obeying all the genuine rules prescribed by the State Government.
The prominent persons among others present on the occasion included Pardeep Singh, Zia – Ur- Rehman, Ajay Kotwal, Mehraj Ahmed, Subash Kerni ,Qadir Batt, Abdul Gani, Bashir Ahmed, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Nishad Ahmed , Mohd. Tariq, Dharam Chand, Gh. Hassan Shan,J.K.Heera, Noushad Ahmed Bhat, Farooq Ahmed, Chaman Lal, Javeed Iqbal , Gansara Singh, Laddi Kumar,Vipen Kumar and Ram Parkash.
