JAMMU: A deputation of Private Schools Association (PSA) led by its President Kamal Gupta met Director School Education, Ravinder Singh and apprised him of the problems being faced by private schools in obtaining recognition up to Class 8th.
In the meeting, Joint Director Charandeep Singh was also present.
Gupta mentioned that the private schools which are functioning for the last more than ten years are facing problems in obtaining recognition up to Class 8th due to conditions put by the Fee Fixation Committee (FFC) in which all CEOs / DIET have been directed to collect the details of fee from 2014 to 2017. He also expressed concern over the harassment and hindrance put by the Chief Education Officer Udhampur in authenticating / countersigning of the results of private schools for the session 2016-17 who has forward their files in JKBOSE/ DSE for further extension in affiliation/ recognition etc.
The members demanded action against CEO Udhampur as the schools whose results are pending have nearly been debarred by the DIET for registration in Class 8th. They also demanded recognition to all the institutions which have fulfilled all the conditions and are functioning since decades.
