“As far as Burhan is concerned, he was a terrorist. There is no doubt that he was not an innocent and was a terrorist.
It is unfortunate that people in Kashmir mourn when a terrorist dies.
“People should not condole the death of terrorists, who are responsible for killing hundreds of innocent people,” senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said.
Burhan Wani, the 21-year-old poster boy of militancy, was shot dead in an encounter yesterday by security forces along with two of his accomplices in Kokernag area, 83 km from Srinagar.
This led to violent protests in many parts of Kashmir, with protesters attacking police posts and security personnel in several areas and targeting the BJP office in Kulgam.
Authorities also suspended the annual Amarnath yatra from Jammu to base camps at Baltal and Pahalgam in the Valley which has been gripped by tension.
