POONCH : The residents of Mohalla Kamsar, Poonch held a protest against the administration for creating grave yard in the residential area and resorted to stone pelting over the JCB which was deployed for levelling the ground.
One Nirmala Devi widow of late Naja Ram said that she being a refugee is holding this 24 Marlas of land since 1947 and earning her livelihood. She pleaded that after dislodging her the land could not be used as graveyard in the residential area. A large number of Mohalla people protested against the government decision for creating grave yard.
The police resorted to mild Lathicharge to disperse the protesters and also arrested Nirmala Devi. The work on leveling the land was restored by Tehsildar Poonch Akil Naved and CEO Muncipalty Irshad Sofi in the presence of police.
