JAMMU: Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (Ex-Officio Settlement Officer), Rifat Kohli inspected the revenue records of the villages of Tehsil R. S Pura.
Assistant Settlement Officer, Jammu and Project Co-ordinator, Digital India Land Records Management Programme, Jammu, Tehsildar R. S. Pura, Naib Tehsildars, Girdawars and Patwaris were also present on the occassion.
She took review of the progress of writing Jamabandis from Tehsildar who submitted that 05 Jamabandis have been deposited so far . She said that updated Jamabandies are the pre-requisite for the implementation of the project and asked them to remain vigil and careful while writing/verifying the details of the Jamabandis as the data entry of wrong details is not accepted by the software being used to digitize the same. She stressed upon the Tehsildar and all the subordinate Revenue Officials to expedite the process of Jamabandis and also to furnish the deficient revenue record and ratification of all the errors and discrepancies observed while scanning the revenue records of 79 villages of Tehsil R. S. Pura, which have been conveyed by the office of the Regional Director at the earliest so that necessary corrections and updation can be made in the scanned revenue record of these villages.
Expressing dismay over certain discrepancies in maintaing the requisite revenue records Director gave strict directions to the concerned to work in line with the various standing instructions in this regard and warned of strict action against dereliction of duties.
Later on, she also inspected the Tehsil Record Room to check the revenue record and other relevant documents. There were few shortcomings pointed out especially regarding deposition of mutation fee, maintenance of copy of Part Sarkar of mutations, file indexing and tagging etc. On spot directions were issued to the Tehsildar to take corrective measures in this regard and ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of records.
Speaking on the occasion Kohli said that the aim of the inspection was to check the creation, maintenance and preservance of the revenue records by the field functionaries and to see that the revenue record being scanned is correct and error free so as to achieve end to end solution under the DILRMP.
Director stressed on close co-operation and co-ordination between the concerned officers for updating the records and proper implementation of the Digital India Land records Modernization Programme.
