Progress of works on Employment complex at Toph Sherkhania reviewed

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary Labour & Employment, Saurabh Bhagat on Tuesday visited the under construction Employment Complex at Tophsherkhania here and reviewed the progress of ongoing works there.
He was accompanied by Director Employment, M S Choudhary; Joint Director Employment Jammu, Jyoti Rani Slathia; Superintendent Engineers, PWD, Ravindra Mansotra, Deputy Director (Planning, Deputy Director Central, Xen R&B and other concerned officers.
The Commissioner Secretary inspected different floors and sections of the building while reviewing the physical and financial achievements of the Complex.
He was informed that the project is being executed by the Public Works Department at an estimated cost of Rs 1281.75 lakh.
He was also informed that the Complex would serve as the Nodal Counseling-Cum-Guidance center to youth and would get experts of international repute.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary reiterated that employment generation is the main thrust of the government and the administration is taking several steps in this regard in the Union Territory. During his visit, Bhagat expressed satisfaction over the pace of works while directing the executing agency to complete all the construction works by March 31, 2021 and other allied works by April 30, 2021.
While appreciating the executing agency for carrying out the construction works within the shortest possible time despite COVID-19 pandemic, he added that required funds would be provided without any hindrance for completion of the project.
