Prof Anoop of SMVDU presents paper on habitat at Bangkok meet

KATRA: Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture and Landscape Design, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, Ar. Anoop Sharma presented his co-authored proposal about the ‘Sustainability Guide to the Contemporary Housing of Indian Cities’ with special reference to city like Jammu at the International Conference of Civil, Architecture and Environment Engineering held at Bangkok-Thailand on 23rd-24th June-2016. The research proposal was augmented with case studies, problems like policy making and its implementation at ground level, context of different cities with respect to ecology, planning architecture and history diversity, population burden on urban areas (cities) etc.
Simultaneously, comprehensive solution was suggested by him in the form of a model.
Anoop also emphasised upon the lessons to be learnt from the housing (real estate) failures and stagnancy of the same in some of the leading towns of India.
The conference was organised by Universal Researchers, UAE and number of academicians, researchers belonging to different countries across the globe presented their proposals in different parallel sessions.
The proposal received good responses/feedback from the dignified gathering during the conference and turned out to be an excellent learning experience for the young architect faculty.
Ar. Anoop Sharma also chaired one technical session, comprising of 10 paper presentations of the conference. The visit was fully funded by SMVDU under Professional Development Assistance (PDA) scheme.
