JAMMU: A delegation of Private Schools Association (PSA) led by its President Kamal Gupta on Saturday called on Director School Education Jammu R.A Inqlabi to apprise him about the problems being faced by the private schools.
Other members of delegation included PSA State Coordinator Ajay Gupta, Sanjeev Luthra, Vivek Chouhan, Rameshwar Manhas, Vaneet Gupta and Ram Lal.
Kamal Gupta informed Inqlabi that Chief Education Officers and Zonal Education Officers of Jammu province have been adopting different nomenclatures while conforming and countersigning the results of private schools.
Kamal apprised the Director School Education that mushrooming of the private schools should be checked and schools running without permission/recognition or running additional classes illegally without providing adequate edifice to the students should be closed.
State Coordinator Ajay Gupta informed the Director that most of the private schools functioning in rural and far flung areas of the region are low budget schools which are managed by the unemployed educated youth. “These youth are working hard to earn their livelihood in this age of competition besides generating employment and promoting literacy by charging meager amount from students as fee”, added Ajay.
He demanded immediate disposal of all pending files up to middle standard which are lying pending since 2010.
Inqlabi assured that he will dispose of all pending files up to middle standard and directed all CEOs and ZEOs to demand only required documents viz recognition/permission of a school, birth certificate of newly admitted student, previous result, school leaving certificate, receipt of Red Cross, etc for conformation and countersignature of result. The Director added that private schools are part and parcel of education system so they should always adhere to the educational policies of the government.
