Prioritisation of projects

Dear Editor,
Since development of any region is a continuous process and nothing can be achieved over night different kinds of infrastructural facilities are developed regularly to make the life safe, secure and comfortable. I talk of my Jammu region where different projects have been completed and various are in progress. One of the major projects which I think should have been taken up on priority among all other small or big projects is four laning of Jammu Akhnoor Road. As this is a major corridor connecting two border districts of Rajouri and Poonch also in addition to traffic load of border towns of Jammu District like Khour, Hamir Pur, Planwala etc. Every one concerned might be aware of the fact that hardly a day passes without a minor or major accident on this road, rather we can say it has become a road of accidents. So many lives have been lost so far on this stretch of road.
A tremendous increase in traffic volume over the years and restricted carrying capacity of road has been the major cause of mishappenings at the cost of lives of innocents.
The project of widening of Jammu Akhnoor Road has always been in news only but nothing has been produced on ground so far.
Over the regime of different governments, the issue, I think has not been seriously considered. It is beyond understanding that what are the authorities waiting for – to achieve a target of deaths of innocents or otherwise? What may be the constraints in initiating / executing the project for the authorities, anything can be done if it is determined so.
Without elaborating the facts more, it is just humbly requested to the concerned ministry / authorities to pleas value the consideration of this project of four laning of Jammu Akhnoor Road on priority basis before the toll of deaths is further added up.
