BHADARWAH: in a shocking incident, Principal of Govt Hr Sec School allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Neeru Nullah at Senai Bhalla 18 KM from Bhadarwah in Distt-Doda.
The deceased educationist, Dev Raj age 53 years son of Hira Lal resident of Bhalla was a Botony Lecturer and was presently posted as Principal Hr Sec School Bharat Doda.
According to the reliable sources, Dev Raj was on his way from Bhadarwah to Bhalla and while driving his own car, he parked his car on the road side at Senai, came out of it and suddenly jumped into Neeru Nullah just 3km from his house at Bhalla.
Nearby villagers tried their best to rescue him from the strong currents of Neeru but were only able to retrieve his body after half an hour.
Meanwhile police has started investigation. “As of now we are not in a position to comment that whether this a suicide or a foul play. We have started investigation under section 174 CrPC and have sent the body for postmortem”, said SDPO Bhadarwaah Sajad Ahmed Khan adding that we are waiting for the postmortem report only then we will be able to say cause of his death.
Meanwhile his colleagues and his students are in a state of shock and are unable to believe that Dev Raj can take the drastic step of ending his life in such a way.
“He was my colleague and classmate in university and he was such a jolly and lively person that it is hard to digest that a person like him who was so full of life can end his life in such a way,’ said Prof Mohd Ayub From Gandoh. “Its very sad day for me and indeed for every student, my teacher who was really an example of nobility and philanthorophy. I can’t believe that Dev Raj Sir who taught me in 12th class has left us like this”, said Muhammad Wajid Aziz a student of Bhadarwah Campus.
Meanwhile, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar has expressed profound grief over the demise of Dev Raj, Principal Higher Secondary School, Bharat, Doda. The minister expressed his condolences with the bereaved family, and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
