Even as Kashmir is battling with the worst ever flood havoc of its history, the pampered State Government employees are playing the truant. Their continued absence has forced the Chief Secretary to issue a warning for resuming their duties ‘to mitigate the problems of the people in this time of crisis’ or else face action. It is common with Kashmir based employees to make merry by taking off from their duties even when separatists give ‘Hartal’ calls.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the local employees to ditch their own people despite the fact that forces from as far as Pune,Nagpur and elsewhere have thronged Kashmir to help out the flood sufferers?
