Preserve, promote Temples as part of our rich Heritage & Culture: Yudhvir, Priya

JAMMU: Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP Vice President has asserted that temples and shrines are a significant part of the rich heritage and culture of Jammu and the people must play a proactive role in preservation and promotion of the temples and the ritualistic functions held there. He said that this will help in easily passing on this essential component of our culture and heritage to the future generations.
He expressed this in his address during a congregation while participating in the function organized on the occasion of Sthapna Diwas of Sukrala Mata at Purani Mandi here today. Priya Sethi, National Executive Member and Former minister was also present.
On the occasion, Ashok ji, President Sukrala Devi Sewa Dal, Purani Mandi, Ajay Sethi, General Secretary, Brij Mohan, Chairman, Amit Singh Jamwal, Vice President, Parveen Sharma Cashier, Rakesh Sharma, Narinder Singh Jawwal, Vinod Kumar, Sunil Baru, Kewal Krishan, Gora ji, Rakesh Gupta, Manoj Dogra, Sunil Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Suresh ji , Suresh Gupta, Sushant Sharma (Pandit ji), Parveen Kerni, Vipan Sharma, Amit Mahajan and Sanjay Mahe were also present.
Amid the environment of religious fervour and gaiety, Yudhvir Sethi also participated in the Hawan and Pooja held on the occasion in the premises of the temple. Full of devotion and enthusiasm, he also distributed Langar among the large number of devotees having come to pay obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum of the holy temple.
While addressing the gathering, Yudhvir Sethi said that the Sukrala Mata Mandir in Kathua as well as this temple in Purani Mandi are ancient temples and people visit not only to pay obeisance but also to achieve peace of mind. He assured the people that on behalf of the BJP as well as individually he will contribute whatever would be required for the promotion of this rich cultural heritage be it the holding of large congregations or other programmes and projects. He said that while the Temple management is also making the contribution in this regard, the people should also come forward and proactively participate in such sacred endeavours.
Priya Sethi, in her address, asserted that Temples are the identity of Jammu and in order to safeguard one’s identity it is necessary for the people to remain connected to their roots.
“Temples and spiritual pursuits being inseparable part of our culture, therefore I appeal to the people of Jammu to visit the temples and temple related functions in large numbers to preserve and promote the rich heritage and culture of the City of Temples,” she added.
