Premium for separatism, gallows for nationalism in BJP-PDP Govt: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Accusing the BJP- PDP Government of eulogising and glorifying the militants and subversives, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, on Tuesday questioned the rationale behind announcement of compensation and government jobs to the NoKs of stone pelters who had waged war against the State and the security forces in Kashmir.
He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today over the announcement made by the Chief Minister in the Assembly yesterday wherein she stated that Rs 5 lakh would be paid as ex-gratia along with government jobs in specified cases to the family members of stone pelters who died while fighting the security forces in the recent turmoil in Kashmir.
Under what policy was the compensation announced and what about the security personnel who sacrificed their lives while defending the national honour and flag? Singh questioned to the saffron flavoured government.
Reminding the BJP ministers that when army jawans were killed in the Valley while defending the nation’s freedom and its borders, they had made the statement that the State Government did not have any policy to pay ex-gratia to the martyrs, he said under which policy was the ex-gratia and jobs announced for those who had waged war against the State, destroyed over 50 police stations and security camps, snatched weapons from armed forces, killed several security personnel besides injuring several thousands. Accusing the BJP of acting as petty accomplice with PDP, Singh said that the saffron ministers had crossed all the limits of timidity to remain glued to power.
During elections the same BJP leaders had assured ‘zero tolerance’ to anti-nationals and subversives but had surrendered even their basic fundamentals after their ascendance to power, he said adding that earlier it was ex-gratia to the dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani’s family and now the stone pelters families were the next in line for the State honours in the form of monetary compensation and government jobs.
On the contrary, police cases had been registered by the incumbent BJP-PDP government against those who raised slogans of ‘Vande Matram’ in Rajouri and also those students of NIT Srinagar who unfurled National flag in Srinagar, he lamented.
Accusing the BJP ministers of falling from grace, he said that their conduct did not merit mere condemnation but merited mourning. They who refused ex-gratia to army martyrs and to those sons of soil who laid down their lives during Amarnath land row had emphatically announced the same for anti-national elements fighting our forces and challenging our integrity and sovereignty regretted Harsh.
Will Nirmal Singh and 24 other members of his circus ever ruminate over their predicament and explain to their electorates as to how and why the tax payers money is being used to pay compensation to enemies of state? Harsh asked.
Gagan Pratap Singh General Secretary Young Panthers and Parshottam Parihar State Secretary PTU were also present during the press conference.
