JAMMU: Prakash Utsav of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji will be celebrated on January 20, 2021 and Nagar Kirtan will be taken out on January 18, 2021. It was informed by President District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu, Jagjit Singh during a press conference held on Wednesday.
Giving further details, he said that Prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh ji will be celebrated at Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Dev, Chand Nagar, Jammu with gaiety and fervour. He appealed to people from all walks of life to participate in the Prakash Utsav celebrations on January 20, 2021 and Nagar Kirtan on January 18, 2021.
President DGPC said that keeping in mind precautions of COVID-19, the route of Nagar Kirtan has been curtailed. Now, the Kirtan, after starting from Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar Jammu will pass through Dogra Chowk to Vikram Chowk to Police Line / Asia to Green Belt to Shaurya Chowk to Govt. Hospital, Gandhi Nagar to Gurdwara Baba Fateh Singh Ji Gandhi Nagar to Gole Market to Kulbir Singh & Sons to Khalsa Chowk, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
Singh urged devotees to take precautions and follow SOPs issued for COVID-19, i.e., wearing masks and keeping social distancing etc.
Fateh Singh, General Secretary, requested the public private transporters to extend their cooperation by diverting matadors, autos and other vehicles to alternate routes.
