JAMMU: Group Editor of Times Network Navika Kumar, commended the fearless reporting and unwavering dedication of Senior Editor Pradeep Dutta, who was honored with the prestigious ENBA (Exchange 4 Media News Broadcasting Award) for his outstanding coverage of the Ukraine war.
The ENBA awards, announced recently for the year 2022, recognise excellence in different categories of News Television. Pradeep Dutta’s coverage of the Ukraine War for Times Now earned him the Gold award in the spot reporting category. Although he was away on assignment during the announcement, the award was accepted on his behalf by the Times Now team. Navika Kumar personally handed him the trophy, acknowledging his years of dedication and hard work in the field of journalism.
This marks Pradeep’s second consecutive ENBA award; he was previously honored for his compelling story on Pakistan’s terror tunnels. Notably, he is the sole journalist from Jammu and Kashmir to cover the Russia-Ukraine war, earning praise for his courageous reporting amid gunfire and explosions in the war zone.
In addition to the ENBA recognition, Pradeep Dutta was conferred with Colombo based Regional Council for Strategic Stidies’s (RCSS) Mehboob ul Haq award for his research on Indo-Pak Water Politics and Cooperative Security in South Asia.
He was also bestowed with state award by the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in 2022, celebrating his bold and excellent journalism.
Grateful for the trust placed in him by Editor Navika Kumar, Pradeep expressed his thanks and emphasized the importance of being given the opportunity to cover such significant assignments.
With over two decades of experience in covering counterinsurgency and counterterror operations, Pradeep Dutta’s journalistic expertise shone brightly during his month-long stint in Ukraine. He also undertook the challenging task of covering the Israel-Hamas war, providing viewers with real-time updates amid rocket explosions in the war zone.
