JAMMU: The Income Tax Department celebrated ‘Republic Day’ across the State where its offices are functioning.
Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu, Sangeeta Gupta unfurled the National flag at Aayakar Bhawan, Jammu. The same function was also organized at Income Tax Officers Residential Housing Colony, which was attended by large number of prominent tax payers, members of Bar/CAs associations, traders federation, senior citizens and the employees of the department.
The audience was moved by the Guard of Honour and drill by the students of St. Peter School and they were appreciated. A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion. The audience was enthralled by the singing of poems from the collection ‘Sparsh Ke Gulmohar’ written by Sangeeta Gupta which were composed by a noted composer of Jammu Brij Mohan and sung by the budding singers of Jammu Apoorva Jamwal, Indu Bala and Varsha Jamwal. Flag hoisting functions were also held at Income tax offices of Kathua, Samba, Katra, Udhampur, Srinagar, Anantnag, Rajouri and Baramulla.
