SRINAGAR: Anantnag Kings and Simula Super Stars entered quarterfinals of the ongoing in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League, organized by J and K Police under civic action programme at Kashmir University and Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, here on Saturday.
In the first match played at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Anantnag Kings defeated BCC Bulls by nine wickets.
Batting first, BCC Bulls made 107/8 in 20 overs. Amir Aziz was the top scorer with 28 runs. In reply, Anantnag Kings chased the target in 16 overs for the loss of one wicket, Imran Bazaz played a superb inning of 61 runs. Man of the Match and Most sixes awards were achieved by Imran Bazaz. Imtiyaz Malik of BCC Bulls begged the best catch of the match award.
In another match at Kashmir University Ground, Simula Super Stars defeated Mirza Gladiators by 14 runs.
Simula Super Stars, batting first, was bowled out for 123 runs in 20 overs, Hardeep Singh made 46 runs.
In reply, Mirza Gladiators failed to chase the target and lost all wickets for 109 runs in 19.1 overs. Adil Showkat was the top scorer with 35 runs.
Sahil Sharma of Simula Super Stars clinched three wickets in four overs and was declared as Man of the Match.
Most sixes award was achieved by Manzoor Pandov while Best catch award was won by Ahmad Banday of Mirza Gladiators.
SP North Shafaqat Bhat, CO 47 Btn SSB and SDPO Hazratbal Sajad Ahmad distributed the awards among the players.
Rajesh Gill Organizing Secretary of the League informed that after the completion of all league matches the point tally of the participating teams are as under :-
Pool-A Murtaza Warriors, Simula Superstars, HK Stars and Mirza Gladiators from Pool A while TCI Max, JKP Tigers, Anantnag Kings and Ramhalls Lions Kupwara from Pool B will contest in quarterfinals. Alhamza Superkings and BCC Bulls were eliminated from the tournament.
