POWERGRID organises cultural programme for promotion of Hindi

JAMMU: With the policy of Union Government to increase the usage and popularity of Hindi in the offices and other departments under its control for wider acceptability of Hindi as official language of the country, POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System-II on Tuesday organised a cultural programme at Abhinav Theater, here on Tuesday. The cultural programme was presented by artists of Natrang.
The theme of the programme was ‘Celebrating Diversity’ wherein a unique cultural album of Jammu and Kashmir was showcased through the dances.
Starting with vibrant Kashmiri ‘Rouf’, the programme transported the audiences to a most rejoicing journey of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, unfolding spectacular dance traditions of Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojari, Pahari, Bhadrwahi and Ladakhi cultures.
The programme culminated through the presentation of a mega performance ‘Unity in diversity of J and K’, exclusively designed and composed to portray the harmony and the cultural co-existence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The presentation was conceived and devised by Balwant Thakur. Prior to this performance an energetic dance performance by the children of employees was also presented.
The event was attended by all the employees of POWERGRID NRTS-II posted at Jammu and Samba alongwith their family members, senior officials from Corporate Centre and the Region and various luminaries from the state also attended the event.
Ravi P Singh , Director (Personnel), POWERGRID was the Chief Guest and Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh was Guest of Honour.
Anil Jain, Executive Director (NRTS-II), while welcoming all the guests, stressed upon the employees to ensure maximum usage of Hindi in their official working and urged them to prove as role models in this direction.
He emphasised the fact that once you are performing your duties towards implementation of Rajbasha only then you can expect others to follow.
Ravi P Singh highlighted the efforts POWERGRID is undertaking in promoting the official language Hindi. He complimented Anil Jain and his team for organising such programmes wherein a feeling of unity and patriotism is generated and which can further strengthen our commitment towards our duties towards implementation of Raj Basha Hindi.
Simrandeep Singh also appreciated POWERGRID for its efforts in national growth and development.
Anil Jain felicitated Ravi P Singh, Simrandeep Singh and Balwant Thakur. Vote of thanks was presented by R. Narayan, Chief Mana-ger (HR).
