‘Power hungry BJP compromises on ideology’

VIJAYPUR: Former minister and State General Secretary of Congress Party Manjit Singh on Friday accused BJP of murdering democracy for dissolving assembly in Uttrakhand.
Speaking before the party workers in Vijaypur during a monthly meeting, Manjit Singh said BJP has back stabbed democratic governments (Uttrakhand and Arunachal Pradesh) and always tried to weaken Congress ruled states in India.
The former minister said even as Governor had asked Congress Government their majority on the floor of the house. However, the centre intervened and imposed governor rule dissolving the assembly allegedly unconstitutionally.
He termed the act of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP as murdering democracy.
Putting a question mark, he said, why such a step was not taken in Jammu and Kashmir where PDP-BJP did not form government for consecutive three months and presently also uncertainty still persists over oath taking ceremony.
The former Minister said that the Centre should have intervened in Jammu and Kashmir but its assembly was not dissolve which shows that BJP has compromised its basic ideology inspired by Shama Prashad Mukharjee.
“BJP is power hungry as the party has compromised with issues like Art 370, two flags and two constitutions which they always raised during election campaigns,” he alleged.
He reminded BJP that they used to raise voice in public about these issues but have gone into silent mode after they came in alliance with PDP.
“It shows that they have compromised their ideology for the sake of power. BJP is power hungry and can go to any extend so that they can come to power,” he added.
Regarding bring back of black money, he said, the issue has been send to cold storage by the BJP who always cried among the people during parliamentary election campaign that the black money would be brought back.
Not only the BJP has failed to bring black money back to India, he said, the central government also remained unsuccessful to stop Vijay Malaya from escaping to foreign.
Vijay Malaya was allegedly facilitated to escape to foreign land like Lalit Modi; he alleged and said that the BJP was hands in glove with these two people who have cheated banks taking huge debts.
Meanwhile, he asked the Congress workers to work on the ground and get ready for panchayat and local body elections.
