Poonch Taekwondo players shine at National Championship

POONCH: Poonch Taekwondo Club players making whole Jammu and Kashmir proud by winning one silver and one bronze medal in recently concluded Sub Junior National Taekwondo Championship held at Raipur Chattisgarh organised by Taekwondo Federation of India under the banner of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The Jammu and Kashmir team consist of 18 boys and girls participated in this championship under the banner of J&K Taekwondo Association and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Mohd Arhaan of Poonch displayed excellent skills of taekwondo and beat his opponents from states like host Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and won silver medal for Jammu and Kashmir UT while Arohi Dutta of Poonch Taekwondo Club beat West Bengal , Punjab and won silver for J&K UT.
Both these players are trained by Rajinder Singh Taekwondo Coach from Department of Youth Services and Sports Poonch.
On the arrival of both the medalist ADGP Jammu Anand Jain congratulated them for bringing laurel to Jammu and Kashmir UT by winning Medal at National Level for J&K.
He also assured every possible help for the development of Taekwondo in border district Poonch through their Civic action programme.
President of Poonch District Taekwondo Association Makhan Lal Sharma along with all the office bearers of PDTA congratulated the both the winners and their parents for this achievement. Atul Pangotra international referee also congratulated both the medal winners and coach.
Speaking on the occasion Rajinder Singh Taekwondo Coach thanked Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Secretary Nuzhat Gull for her full support to the players of border district Poonch.
