Poonch spiker in India camp for Asian Games

JAMMU: International spiker from Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir, Saqlain Tariq has been selected for the prolonged India camp conducted by Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) at SAI Centre, Aurangabad in Maharashtra for the Jakarata (Indonesia) Asian Games.
“The camp shall continue for almost nine months for the prestigious event scheduled to be held from August 18,” informed veteran spiker, sports promoter and father of Saqlain, Mohd Tariq.
Saqlain made part of the probables selected during the two-day selection trials held at Aurangabad yesterday by VFI.
The young spiker from border district of Poonch in Jammu, Saqlain has already represented India in 10th Asian Youth Volleyball Championship held at Colombo in Sri-Lanka as Captain in 2014.
He (Saqlain) has also undergone three-month Junior Boys Coaching Camp at SAI Centre Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat last year prior to participation of Indian team in the Asian Junior Championship at Chinese-Taipei. For adding more feathers to his cap, Patron-in-Chief Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja, President Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers congratulated Saqlain Tariq and wished him good-luck for his future endeavours.
Sidharth Daluja, while congratulating Saqlain, said that his achievements will boost the morale of young generation and motivate the youth to take part in sports activities.
