Jammu: On one hand the Jammu and Kashmir Government is making all efforts to woo tourists to the State claiming peace is prevailing in the region to boost economy besides appealing them to be messengers of peace across the world, on the other hand a boy from district Poonch depicted a false and misleading image of the State before the judges in blind auditions of reality show ‘Indian Idol’ held on 16th -17th December at the national capital.
Ehsan Asgar, 23, who is among 40 top contenders selected by the panel of judges, comprising music composer Anu Malik, Director, Producer Farah Khan and Singer Sonu Nigam, has represented Jammu and Kashmir as violence hit State.
However, surprisingly, ‘Indian Idol’ being aired on Sony Channel in the weekends, has shown Ehsan in a video with the background, expressing resentment for living in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that people are living under fear psychosis.
“Dharti ka Swarg Kashmir, Yahan Kabhi Sakoon Basta Tha, Lekin Aaj Yahan Goonjati Hein Goliyon Ki Awazein Aur Dahshat Mein Jeeta Hai Har Shakhs,” the couplets read behind the scene in the background showing Ehsan in his native village Poonch.
Ehsan, in the video has expressed, “bare dukh se hum yahan rah rahe hein. Border area hai, bomb girte hein,” (we are living here in fear. It is a border area, bombs are shelled).
“Tamanayein Hoti hein Dil Mein Dabi Reh Jaati Hein. Zindagi Ka Bharosa Nahi Hota Ke Kab Zindagi Ke Kis Morh Pe Shaam Ho Jaye,” (We have desires but they get buried in our hearts. Do not know when our life will come to an end), Ehsan says.
In studio, Ehsan asserted that he felt that music is the only medium, which can differ him from the atmosphere he was living in and breaks down before the judges.
Ehsan, who sang Katrina Kaif pictured song from the movie ‘Phantom’,— ‘Afghan Jalebi Bhai Wah’, saying, “mere andar ka dard aaj apke samne aaya hai.”Moreover, Sonu Nigam, gets up from the chair and hugs Ehsan with words… “Tum achha gaate ho and you are in.”
With couplets, ‘Ishq Ne Mir Taki Mir Bana Rakha Hai, Dard Ne Mujhko Kashmir Bana Rakha Hai,’ emotional Ehsan, who is hailing from Poonch, has portrayed wrong picture of Jammu and Kashmir on screen, which undoubtedly might have viewed crores of audience while tuning their television channels.
Astonishingly, the channel airing the show, has also shown some pictures in the background of Kashmir unrest.
