Police recovers stolen property, 3 arrested

DODA: Police on Friday solved a burglary case by arresting a thief and two others at Doda.
According to a report, on 11th April 2015 one Abdul Hamid son of Ghulam Mohd Malik resident of Mochan Deoli, Doda lodged a written complaint about theft in his house with Police Station Doda.
On this, a case under FIR No. 45/2015 section 457, 380 RPC was registered and a party of Police Station Doda headed by SHO Inspr. Jaleel Ahmed Kichloo under the close supervision of Z.N Manhas, SSP Doda and Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Dy. SP Hqrs. Doda, rounded up a known burglar Rafiq Ahmed son of Gh. Hassan resident of Sekwan.
During sustained interrogation and on the basis of his disclosure, one 12 bore rifle with seven rounds and one knife were recovered from Shankwal Galla Dhar Forest area and he also confessed his involvement in the burglary.
On further questioning, the accused also confessed selling of stolen gold/silver ornaments to one Attaullah son of Gh. Mohd Tramboo resident of Saw Mohalla Doda, who was also arrested.
On the basis of his disclosure, stolen property i.e., gold necklace weighing 9.5 gms valuing Rs 27,000 and silver necklace weighing 50 gms valuing Rs 1,900 making it to Rs 28,900 was recovered from the shop of one Goldsmith namely Govinder Sharma son of Hardan Sharma resident of Calcutta at present Beoli Doda, running a shop in Mandir Gali Doda, who was also arrested in the instant case.
The group is under further sustained interrogation with the expectation that some more burglaries having taken place in Doda town or other parts of the district will be worked out.
