Police recovers 36 missing mobile phones

JAMMU: In a first-of-its kind initiative, the cyber cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have recovered as many as 36 ‘missing’ mobile phones from various locations across the city using mobile tracking software and applications.
All the recovered mobile phones were lost or misplaced by the owners. The recovered handsets are all high-end phones and were handed over to their original owners.
SSP Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta constituted a team to look into the cases of Cyber related crimes.
During investigations, it was revealed that the recovered phones were either purchased from local vendors or found lying at different locations by the users.
Now police is in the process of identifying the vendors who deal in sale and purchase of second-hand mobiles without verifying their details. This initiative was held under the supervision of SP Component, Nasir Ahmed.
