AKHNOOR: On the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Rajesh Kumar, DIG Jammu Shakeel Beigh SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, SP Rural Mohan Lal Kaith and SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh held a relief camp at Hamirpur Kona Tehsil Paragwal Sub-Division Khour and listened to the grievances of general public and distributed relief material like Tarpal and other eatable materials among the flood affected people of the area. This village is worst effected in floods and remained cut-off for more than 4 days from the national highway.
A medical camp was organised at Govt. High School, Surya Chak (Phallan Mandal) by Jammu Police. The aim of this medical camp was to provide medical assistance, which include free medicines to the needy locals staying in the remote areas, especially those affected due to incessant heavy rains and floods in the area.
A team of doctors, from Police Hospital Jammu comprising Dr. Ajay Mishri, Dr. Manju Shah Bajaj and other paramedical staff have provided treatment, consultation, counselling and specialised medical care to the needy of all age groups including children, women and elders, which include health education of water borne and other communicable diseases, and the precautions to be taken to prevent them.
The response of the public was very forthcoming, who have applauded the efforts of police in reaching out to them at the time of need, and have requested for more such camps.
The medical camp was supervised by S. A. Beig, DIG Jammu Kathua Range, and among others was also attended by Rahul Malik, SP South, S. Randheer Singh, SP Hqrs, Jammu and IC PP Phallan Mandal.
Meanwhile, SSP Udhampur Mohd. Suleman Choudhary also distributed relief material to victims of recent flood at Saddal, Pancheri District Udhampur.
Similarly , relief material was distributed by district administration and police to the residents of village Saddal Panchari arranged through Lupin Human Welfare Foundation.
Meanwhile , SHO Majalta Inspr. Arjun Singh Chib assisted by police rescue team of Police Station Majalta cleared the boulders from the damaged link road Majalta, Udhampur to make way for the stranded vehicles
Moreover , Udhampur police personnel are continuing rescue and search operations at village Saddal Pancheri. Police is trying to search buried bodies, if any in the mud at land slide area.
