Police organises awareness programme on drug abuse

JAMMU: Under operation Pathshala launched by SSP Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta, police on Friday organised an interaction session on ‘drug abuse’ at Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Shiv Nagar.
SDPO City WEST, Dy SP Nikhil Rasgotra imp-arted awareness about the drugs and its harmful effects in the life and to keep them away from drug abuse.
The students were made aware about the drug menace prevailing in the society and the consequences there of. They were advised to stay away from drugs.
They were also advised if they see any person selling or consuming drugs they should approach nearest police for the same.
The teachers were also asked to keep a vigil over the students, if any of them is found indulging in the drug abuse his parents be approached accordingly and counselling be done at the school.
Besides they were made aware about the traffic rules and regulations. They were advised to use helmet, seat belt while driving and to avoid rash driving and not to use mobile phone while crossing the road.
In the end they were assessed that to develop police friendly atmosphere, police station visits of the students will be arranged.
SHO Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Ashwani Shar-ma, Chairman, Principal and Teachers of the School were also present.
