POONCH: Glamours Cricket Club to face Poonch-XI in the final of Police Martyrs T-20 Cricket tournament being organised by District Police Poonch under Civic Action Programme at Government Degree College Ground, here.
Earlier in second semifinal played on Sunday, Glamours Cricket Club Poonch outplayed LoC Rajouri by 11 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, Glamours Cricket Club set a target of 137 runs. Pankaj and Sachin were the top scorers with score 34 and 32 runs respectively. Iftaqar and Yaser shared two wickets each for LOC.
In reply, LoC Rajouri could not chase and managed to score 126 runs in allotted overs thus lost the match by 11 runs. Deepu with his brilliant bowling performance clinched four wickets for Glamours and was also declared Man of the Match.
In today’s match Masroor Ahmed Mir, Additional SP Poonch was the Chief Guest who interacted with players and laid stressed on other youths to participate in sports activities to make them mantally and physically fit. DySP Mujebul Rehman was also present. Today’s match was officiated by the technical panels comprising Vijay Sharma, Rajinder Singh Toofan, Nadim Khan, Pintu and Chairman Shaheed Manjit Singh Volleyball Club Poonch Tariq Khan.
It is pertinent to mention here that Poonch-XI defeated YCC in the first semifinal played on 20th April, 2106.
