Police Martyrs NZ Inter Club T-20;Khana Club Jargan enters final, Vicky XI Pathankot in semis

KATHUA: Khana Cricket Club Jargan entered into the final of the ongoing Seventh Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship, organised jointly by the J and K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua at Sports Stadium, here on Wednesday.
Earlier in the first semifinal played today, Khana Cricket Club Jargan defeated Minerva Cricket Club Chandigarh by five wickets. Khana Cricket Club Jargan won the toss and decided to field first.
Minerva Club, batting first, set a target of 165 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Tejinder Singh and Himanshu were the top scorers with 49 and 39 runs respectively. For Khana Club, Harpreet picked two wickets.
In reply, Khana Club easily chased the target by losing five wickets in the process. Harpreet (31) and Ramandeep (38) runs were the main scorers. Rahul of Minerva Club grabbed two wickets.
Harpreet was declared Man of the Match and was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 3,000 and a trophy by Jatin Gupta of Karam Chand and Sons.
In another quarterfinal match, Vicky XI Pathankot thrashed R&R Sports Club Delhi by 41-run.
Batting first, Vicky XI Pathankot scored 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Prince and Baltej made 26 and 19 runs respectively. Vijay of R&R Sports Club claimed four wickets.
In reply, R&R Club failed to chase the target and managed to score only 92 runs in 16 overs for the loss of ten wickets.
Rohan Rathi was the only batsman who touched the double figure with 16 runs. Rahul scalped four wickets while Sultan Ansari took two for Vicky XI Pathankot.
Rahul was declared Man of the Match and was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 3,000 and a trophy by Rakesh Thakur of Bar Association Kathua.
