Police holds debate on human rights

JAMMU: To sensitise the police personnel of Jammu District on human rights, a district level debate competition was held at DPL Jammu on topic ‘Respect for Human Right is an obligation of every citizen in the society’.
The debate competition was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Gupta SSP Jammu. A large number of participants which include Police Prosecutors from Saddar Courts Jammu, police officers and police officials from all sub-divisions participated in the event.
The panel of jury members include Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarters Jammu, Prashant Mahajan Chief Prosecuting Officer, DPO Jammu and Ashish Rathore Chief Prosecuting Officer Saddar Courts Jammu.
On the occasion, Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu was the Chief Guest, who distributed trophies among winners of the competition.
SSP Jammu, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the importance of human rights and vouched to safeguard the human rights in the State. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to secure the lives and properties of the people of the State and also to restore peace in the society.
The winners of the debate competition included Inspector Anil Raina of DPL Jammu who was declared first while Prosecuting Officers Amir Beig and Ankush Sharma of Saddar Courts Jammu were declared as second and third respectively.
The proceedings of the competition were conducted by Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer NHRC DPO Jammu.
