JAMMU: To ensure smooth conduct of the Republic day celebrations here in Jammu Inspector General of police Jammu range Danish Rana Wednesday chaired a high level meeting of senior police , paramilitary and intelligence officers to take stock of the prevailing security situation.
Rana directed the officers to carry out census of the inhabitants /residing in and around the stadium, checking of Hotels and other lodgments be under taken on priority. Joint nakas at selected places be established so that no ANE/ASE could sneak in the city.
Danish Rana also stressed upon all the officers that proper briefing be given to the officers/ Officials deployed for Republic Day duties in view of the recent Fidayeen attack on Pathankot and last year Cease fire violations from across the border. He stressed upon all the participants for effective and co-ordinated efforts at gross root level for smooth conduct of the function.
He further stressed that adequate security arrangements be made in and around the venue of Republic Day function which is organized at M.A. Stadium Jammu. He advised
He further directed all the intelligence agencies including SSP Jammu to activate their all resources available with them to generate intelligence having bearing on Republic Day-2016 in advance so that anti-national and anti-social elements could not succeed in their nefarious designs. He further said that Supervisory officers be directed to remain alert in their respective jurisdictional areas.
A proper co-ordination be maintained among all the intelligence agencies, Army, PMF, Traffic and Security wing in their respective areas of jurisdiction for smooth and incident free conduct of National event.
He emphasized that people from all walks of life are expected to join the Republic Day function for which adequate parking slots be identified in advance so that vehicles are parked in an orderly manner. Traffic arrangements be made in such a manner that general public may not feel any inconvenience.
On the border management front, IGP Jammu Zone, stressed upon the DIG JSK Range and District SSP Jammu to lay Joint Nakas on all the infiltration routes. Night Patrolling on National Highway be conducted. Any input related to infiltration be disseminated with all concerned on real time basis.
DIG JSK Range and SSP CID CI Jammu to mobilize their all resources particularly in border areas for collection of intelligence to prevent infiltration from across the border. All Border Police Stations/ Police Posts, VDC’s be strengthened and proper briefing be given to them by Supervisory offices on daily basis regarding nature/importance of duties to be performed by them.
