Police continues sanitation drive in Srinagar

Srinagar (25 Sep): Srinagar police continued its sanitation drives in different flood hit areas in Srinagar to clear some affected city localities from garbage and debris. The drives were started in the city hospitals along with Hospital administrations were extended to other vulnerable areas. The drive that started last week continued all through the week.


After the water in the flood hit areas of Srinagar city started to recede there was sudden surge in garbage and waste in and around the localities that posed serious health concerns to the general public.

Police joined in the efforts with the civil administration and formed teams headed by officers that were deputed to these areas with Tippers and Tractors to clear debris and waste on the roads. The sanitation drive was started on 17th Sept. and continued till date.


These sanitation drives were held in areas of Maisuma, Nehru Park, Lal Chowk, Shaheed Gunj ,Parimpora,Karan Nagar and Kothi Bagh.
