PoK DPs protest, submit memorandum to PM

JAMMU: SOS International-An Organisation for PoK Displaced Persons on Sunday staged a protest outside Raj Bhavan, Jammu to show their resentment over step motherly treatment of government.
During the protest, a memorandum on the plight of PoK DPs was addressed to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh handed over to Governor N.N Vohra.
While addressing the protestors, Chuni alleged that none of the previous governments bothered to take favourable steps to end the plight of PoK DPs and with a ray of hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would bring good days to them but he also failed to bring relief for destitute community of PoK DPs. He further recalled that in the year 1947, a load of troubles fell upon the innocent and brave people of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) when tribal (Kabalis) along with Pakistani Army invaded in various parts of J and K State including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Poonch, Kotli and Bhimber which is now under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
Chuni said that it is very unfortunate that none of governments in the past have taken any initiative to reduce the miseries borne by these destitute PoK DPs adding, PoK DPs have been exploited by one or other way and they have been seen merely as only vote bank. He appealed to the government to implement the package passed by State Cabinet otherwise the SOS International will launch a decisive battle to get justice.
Others who spoke on the occasion were J.S Mangal, Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, Harbans Lal Sabharwal, Virinder Khajuria, Gurmeet Singh Isher, Sharda Devi, Prof. Narinder Sharma, Sanjeev Suri, O.P Khajuria, Tarvinder Singh and Bishan Bakshi.
