JAMMU: Refugees from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) on Wednesday organised a rally to celebrate victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) especially Narendra Modi and defeat of National Conference (NC) and Congress coalition candidate in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
A large number of refugees, hailing from Chhamb, Deva Batala, Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarbad, Palandari and Bagh areas of Pak held Jammu and Kashmir, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir PoJK Refugee Front -1947, 1965, 1971 assembled at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here and organised a massive victory rally. President of the organization Rachhpal Singh Chib was leading.
They also celebrated the defeat of Congress and NC and claimed that it was result of denial of support to them by refugee voters whose number is nearly ten lakhs. They also distributed sweets and raised slogans in support of Modi.
Chib while addressing rally described the defeat of Cong-NC candidate as victory of refugees who categorically rejected them for befooling over ten lakh refuges for the last over five to six decades.
