JAMMU: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) has decided to observe Chetna Divas on December 27, 2017, at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
“Chetna Divas is observed as remembrance of Martyr Pandit Prem Nath Bhat, who fell to the bullets of fanatics on December 27, 1989 in his home town Anantnag. Bhat was a patriot, nationalist and an efficient social activist. His writings proved him to be a man of vision,” said a Trust official in the meeting held here on Friday.
The members, while appreciating the Trust work in its success to get the Bill for protection of Temples and Shrines of Kashmir put forward on the floor of J and K Assembly, expressed their dismay in not succeeding to get the Bill passed. They also flayed the present government in showing utter unwillingness to address the aspects of protecting Temples and Shrines of Kashmir to save them from damage and encroachment.
“The Trust will intensify the campaign to press the State Government to move the Bill “Kashmiri Hindus Shrines, Temples and other Properties, Maintenance, Preservation and Management Bill”,” they said.
Virendar Raina, Vijay Kashkari, R.L Pandita, A.K Raina, Kashmiri Lal Bhat and Subash Chatta were also present.
