JAMMU: A delegation of All J and K Plus Two PSC Lecturers Association met Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and apprised him of the demands pertaining to plus two lecturer community.
The delegation apprised the minister of the issues and said that there are handful of promotion opportunities in the department leading to stagnation adversely affecting the psychological makeup of lecturers.
Discussions were also held on the core issues including implementation of running grade / time bound promotion, placement of lecturers as senior lecturers, pay band three instead of two, restoration of 40 per cent quota in higher education and change of nomenclature, implementation of SRO 743, revocation of SRO 202 and monetary benefits to the newly recruited lecturers.
The minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured for positive consideration. The delegation comprised of M.A Katoch, Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Dr Sanjay Arora, Mohammad Irfan, G.M Bhat, Swarn Singh, Riyaz Ahmed Sohil, Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Brij Nandan, Verinder Singh, Rampal and Naveen Katoch.
