Dear Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to submit following few lines for the kind consideration of DG Accounts & Treasuries. It is very disturbing and ironical that Account Assistants who have qualified the Subordinate Accounts Course-1 (SAC-1) are still not being promoted till date despite repeated pleas and requests made by the qualified/eligible employees. It needs no repetition that the delay in the timely promotion of the Account Assistants’ have left the various vacant positions for AAOs’ unfilled in the Finance department. It is worthwhile to mention here that SAC-1 was held in the month of March, 2021 and the results were declared in the month of June, 2021 & thereafter various assurances from Director General Accounts and Treasuries were given in order to promote the Account Assistants to their next level cadres but nothing substantial materializes on ground zero in this perspective up till now. However, many employee delegations have already met with the authorities concerned but very unfortunately our long pending demand of promotion has not been given due recognition. It has been more than a year now since the results were declared for SAC-1 by the J&K Public Service Commission but as of now our plight remains unaddressed. It is very sad state of affairs that our pleas and requests have been overlooked and disregarded till date for the best reasons known to the authorities at the helm of affairs. I would like to make a humble appeal to the worthy DG Accounts & Treasuries to kindly look into this matter and promote all eligible Account Assistants (Clerks) who are eagerly waiting from the last more than 14 months after having qualified the mandatory SAC-1 Examination.
