JAMMU: Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary on Monday directed the concerned officers of PHE Department to take immediate steps for clearing the liabilities under various schemes and programmes.
These instructions were passed to the officers during a joint meeting convened by Chairman and Minister to discuss the important issues related to district Kargil.
The issues related to improving drinking water scenario and ongoing PHE schemes including purchase of water tankers, installation of hand pumps, release of wages to the daily wagers and casual labourers working in PHE Department were discussed in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that out of 9 Lift Irrigation Schemes, 2 were completed and 7 are nearing completion in the district.
There is liability of Rs 38.63 crore on account of works executed under various schemes and programmes.
