JAMMU: Daily rated, ITI trained and CP workers of PHE Department, who are on Kaam Chhoro Hartal for the last 57 days, held a protest in support of their demands.
A large number of workers, under the banner of All J and K PHE, ITI Trained and CP Workers Association, headed by its Provincial President, Tanveer Hussain assembled at PHE complex BC Road in the morning and started protest against the higher authorities.
The agitating workers were raising slogans in support of their demands including regularization, timely and regular payment of their wages and enhancement in rate of their daily wages.
Tanveer alleged that despite assurance by the higher ups, their demands have not been addressed.
He added that now the talks between PHE Minister and association members have failed and they decided to continue the strike till demands are solve.
He warned that if the State Government does not solve their pending demands within days they will intensify their agitation.
“Number of committees and sub-committees and high power committee of State Government and Governor have been formed to solve our long pending demands but all in vain till date,” he alleged.
