Women play multiple roles in life: Sat

JAMMU: On the occasion of International Women Day, BJP Mahila Morcha under its State President Purnima Sharma organised a programme at Jammu Club, wherein BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma was the Chief Guest.
Sat Sharma, while addressing a massive gathering of women, said that the women plays multiple roles in her life and no family or society is complete without her.
He said that despite getting less opportunities, the success rate among women is high which is due to capacity and capability in them in facing challenges and proving as best leaders in different sectors.
He said that the Narendra Modi government has been focusing on education and dignified life of the women, for which number of welfare schemes have been launched with a motive of their economic upliftment and political empowerment.
During ten month rule in coalition in J and K, BJP had put best efforts in improving social and economic status of the women, he said adding that Ladli Beti scheme was one such historic initiative of PDP-BJP coalition.
He said that woman is the best teacher and her role in inducing patriotic feelings in the young minds of the children in the families can prove to be marvelous.
Purnima Sharma, in her address, focused on the recent Union Budget and said that the BJP led NDA Government wants the real welfare and empowerment of women.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao State Convener S. S Bijral spoke on the need to discourage female foeticide and educate the girl child for getting their contribution in making the society and the nation strong.
Former MoS and MLA Priya Sethi, MLA Rajesh Gupta and Heritage School Chairperson Sunita Mahajan also addressed the gathering.
Five women including Police Officer Shakti Sharma, Yoga Expert Prem Lata, Handicrafts field Activists Nirmal Kour and Suman Ranawat and prominent NGO Activist Sushma were felicitated for having achieved distinctions in their respective fields.
A well known social activist Geetanjali Mahajan, along with her supporters, also joined BJP on this occasion.
Mahila Morcha General Secretary Anju Dogra conducted the proceedings while Morcha leader Veenu Khanna presented vote of thanks.
BJP leaders and Social Activists including Mamta Singh, Dr. Drakshana Andrabi, Suresh Jamwal, Sakina Bano, Usha Choudhary, Vikram Randhawa, S. Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, Sheela Handoo, Anuradha Charak, Sanjita Dogra, Ayodhaya Gupta, Prem Lata, Pradhuman Singh, Jeet Angral, Pushpa Wazir, Aruna Rawat and Suman Choudhary were prominent among those who attended the programme.
