JAMMU: The combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments of University of Jammu on Monday lifted men’s kho-kho title in the ongoing inter-college competitions on the campus ground, here.
In the final, PG Departments defeated equally good side of Government SPMR College of Commerce by a margin of just two points. Earlier, in the given time, the match ended in a draw. Later, in the seven minutes extra time, PG men emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, in women’s kho-kho event, the PG Departments reached the final after they defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua by 11 points.
Now, in the final, scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30 AM at the same venue, PG team shall take on Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar.
In the men’s kho-kho final and prize distribution function, Principal of SPMR College of Commerce, Dr Satinder Singh was Chief Guest, who gave away title trophy to PG team. Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau presided.
Prominent among others present were Ajaz Malik, Mandeep Singh, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, P.D Singh and Jai Bharat.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical penal including Gagan Kumar, Anil Sharma, Anil Kumar, Ankush Sharma and Abhishek Sharma.
