PG College organises National Youth Day

RAJOURI: Govt. Post Graduate College Rajouri on Friday organised National Youth Day with great fervour in the multipurpose hall of the college. The event was chaired by Principal Prof. Shabeer Hussain Shah and witnessed by a huge number of students , teachers and members of the civil society.
The programme was coordinated by Literary and Cultural Committee of the College and included a variety of activities commencing with a blood group testing camp. Umpteen number of students volunteered to get their blood group examined by a team of professionals from Dept. of Health Rajouri and pledged to donate their blood to the blood bank in near future to help the needy.
One of the main part of the event was a symposium on ‘Healthy Youth for Healthy Society’ in which seven candidates expressed their views and deliberated on the topic in a masterly fashion. Ahlam Mir, Obaidullah and Sahil were adjudged first , second and third by a team of judges including Prof. Asadullah Khan , Prof Y.P Sharma and Prof. M. Saleem Wani.
A presentation on Health and Hygiene by Dr.Sumit from Distt. Hospital Rajouri added more meaning to the programme and provided a food for thought to the youngsters as well elders to live a disciplined , healthy and stress free like.
The principal in his address threw light on physical, mental , social and spiritual health of the individuals that collectively contribute to make a truly healthy society.
Prof. Iqbal Raina Coordinator of the Organising Committee presented welcome address whereas Prof. M.K Waqar Vice Principal , Prof Haqeeqat Singh, Prof. Bashir Ch(Staff Sec) , Prof. Saleem Wani addressed the gathering.
The programme was compered by Sushant Sharma whereas Prof. Asif Lone , Prof. Abdhul Haq Nayeemi, Prof. Raheela Mushtaq NSS Programme Officer and Ikhlaq Ahmed extended a helping hand to make the event a success.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Abbas Choudhary HoD Persian.
