People reject coalition, seek Governor Rule to continue

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: In view of the miraculous developments coming to fore within a period of about two months during the Governor Rule since 9th January, 2016, the people of the State are fully convinced of overall developments, prompt attention to their problems, redressal of their grievances, peace and prosperity in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, only during this regime.
In a meeting of Live and Let Live Society of India (LLLSI) held here under its Chairman Romal Singh and President Santokh Singh Komal, the participants strongly criticized the BJP-PDP coalition Government in which its so called fire brands worked for themselves all the time during their 10 months regime and misled the public with promises and assurances without doing anything on ground. They said that the Coalition Government with regional bias, demographical bias, party and party-leader’s bias, proved most injurious to the health of the State and its people. They said that the on-going works taken over from previous Government were abandoned, taking up new works was also not given any priority, clearance of liabilities were pended, decision on public issues were held back, salaries and wages of casual and contractual employees as well as daily wagers were not paid for 6 to 10 months and so on. “All expectations of the voters were dashed against the ground and they repented over wasting the term of elections 2014”, they added.
On the other hand while enumerating the achievements during the present dispensation; they said that Governor has brought forth the wonders on the ground. The coalition government which could not deliver within a period of 10 months, the Governor has done it within a period of less than two months by personally monitoring the execution of the things on ground. The bureaucrats, technocrats and other field officers, who used to absolve themselves of their responsibilities after issuing an order from their offices and then rest in chambers, were made to travel in Matadors and acquaint themselves of the ground realities while other officials were asked to report their pending regularly.
The speed of disposing office work, prompt attention to their problems, quick redressal of their grievances besides seeing the officials conducting on the spot inspections, has fully convinced the public both in Valley and Jammu. Commuters could not believe their eyes when they saw Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and SSP Traffic obtaining personal experience of travelling in mini buses, matadors and buses and seeking public comments. In one day, the State Council led by Governor himself took eight decisions and cleared promotions in Police and Forest Departments, gave nod to advertisement policy 2016, created project wings, and constituted high level committee for regularization of casual labourers. He personally inspected the progress of much awaited work of dredging the Jhelum River.
The Governor after Jhelum may turn towards cleaning of Dal-Lake which may prove killing for number of agencies besides political leaders to fill their pockets, they hoped.
Leave aside the common people, even the elected representatives appreciated the Governor Rule because he released all the pending CDF of the MLAs and MLCs. Former Chief Minister though obliquely, hailed the Governor Rule saying that people were happy with this rule due to the bad governance during last 10 months. President of the society has requested the Newspapers and electronic media to obtain public opinion for continuance of Governor Rule in the State for six months or till fresh elections.
