People ransack hospital over non-availability of staff

KISHTWAR: The attendants of a patient held a protest and ransacked the District Hospital Kishtwar last night over non-availability of staff.
As per sources, family members and relatives of an ailing patient from Bun Asthan area of Kishtwar reached District Hospital at around 8:30 PM but they found that there is no one to attend the patient.
According to eyewitness, the only doctor was busy with the other patient and could not attend the patient for half an hours.
“We also called the hospital higher ups, but no one bothered to reach hospital and to address our problem, “family members alleged. After repeated requests to the authorities, the irate people called the concerned doctor, who did not respond resulting in anguish among the people, who later ransacked the hospital and staged protest. After getting information, hospital administration and police reached the spot and pacified the protesting people. Meanwhile, general public of Kishtwar appealed to Health Minister to fill up all the vacant posts of doctors and para medical staff.
