R S PURA : Hundreds of consumers of Bharat Gas Agency led by PDP leader Bhushan Dogra held a protest against the agency for not issuing domestic gas cylinders for the last three days with an aim to sell these cylinders on full rates from 1st January, 2015 onwards.
The PDP leader who fought the Assembly Elections 2014 strongly criticised introducing the new system of charging full rates from the consumers and then returning the subsidy amount through bank account just to harass the consumers for completing number of formalities. He said that the existing system of issuing cylinders at the subsidised rates should continue because some people are not in position to afford the increased cost.
Dogra said that the agency deliberately stopped issuing gas for the last three days and the people were returned only with a booking No. He demanded that all those consumers whose names have been entered in the booking register be issued cylinders at the old rates even after Ist January. Prominent among those present in the protest include Vikas Gupta, Kewal Choudhary, Amit Khajuria, Raj Kumar, Bikram Choudhary and others.
